What are the requirements of the shipbuilding industry for steel grating?

Steel grating is often used in the shipbuilding industry. Steel grating is needed in many places in the shipyard, such as the ship's engine furnace channel, deck channel, maintenance channel, up and down stairs, etc. What are the requirements of ships for steel grating?

In some occasions, stainless steel grating is also used. In places where seawater corrosion occurs, 316 stainless steel and aluminum plate steel grating are also used. The platform steel grating standards used in shipyards are generally 325, 405, and 505. The thickness and height of the flat steel determine the load-bearing capacity of the steel grating. When selecting, it should be selected according to actual needs.

The error of the outer dimensions of the steel grating should meet the requirements. If the steel grating is welded by hand, the weld feet should be 3mm on both sides, and the ends should be corner welded. No leakage, cold welding and biting should occur.

After welding, the steel grating should be straightened. The surface should have a metallic luster, no sharp edges, no burrs and spatter. When assembling the steel grating manually, the adhesive should be evenly applied without any glue overflow, and the appearance should be neat.

Keep the surface color uniform, the load should be 300kg, and the deflection should be less than 2mm. Whether it is a shipyard or a ship produced, a large amount of metal structures are required, and steel grating is suitable for a large number of metal structures, especially on large ships, where the pedals and stairs on the surface must use steel grating.
